Some may say the trip of a life time! To retire from work for 2 years and travel the globe. Sounds very tough - NOT! Let us take you through our journey beginning with the Trans Mongoligan Railway from St. Petersburg to Bejing, China, South East Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia), Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and South America, including Antarctica and the Galapagos! When will it end you may ask? Well that's when the money runs out, so lets wait and see.

Western Australia

We were in WA for 5 and a half weeks. Ian loved Perth (so I'd be more than happy to live there). We hired a campervan for 9 days and drove the south which was a lot of fun. We really enjoyed cooking on our little one burner portable stove. The company called "Wicked" have vans that are spray painted different designs. We had Scooby Do's Mystery Machine, so we stood out and had many comments from kids and adults. We took 3 and a 1/2 weeks to travel up the north west coast on a Hop on and off "Easyriders" Backpackers Bus which was been great. The drivers were all in their mid to late 30's, all loved heavy metal rock and were a lot of fun. We met some great travellers aswell, and are still bumping into them since the mid north west coast. We stayed at places called Kalbarri, Denham, Coral Bay, Exmouth, Tom Price (Karajini National Park), Port Hedland and Broome. I'm sure a lot different than the east coast. I appear to be the only Aussie traveling these routes at the moment, and am the token one on each of the tours that we have been doing. One Swedish girl was surprised that most Australians hadn't travelled throughtout the whole of the country, even when I explained the huge distances between places!
