Some may say the trip of a life time! To retire from work for 2 years and travel the globe. Sounds very tough - NOT! Let us take you through our journey beginning with the Trans Mongoligan Railway from St. Petersburg to Bejing, China, South East Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia), Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and South America, including Antarctica and the Galapagos! When will it end you may ask? Well that's when the money runs out, so lets wait and see.

Northern Territory - Australia

We then took a flight to Darwin on the 25th of Feb., and have just finished a 9 day tour (broken up into 3 separate tours and some different people) of all of the NT. We camped mostly in permanent tents, but one night in a swag, (I was so exhausted from all the traveling - bus rides, treking and early mornings, that I couldn't stay awake to appreciate the stars), staying in Kakadu National Park, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Alice Springs, Ayers Rock and Kings Canyon. The heat in Darwin was terrible, but the place itself had a really nice feel, so it would be good to see what it is like in the dry season. Currently we are traveling in the wet season, which means rain most days (more so in the north) and amazing electrical storms. There was also an earthquake (7.2 on the scale). We didn't feel it in the National Park, but Darwin did. The weather down in Alice Springs in surprisingly bearable.Tomorrow we take a two night, three day bus from Alice Springs to Cairns, (really over long bus journeys now, but because of this distance, and a lot on unsealed roads, the rumour is that the coach is kitted out for max. comfort and even has plasma screens to watch movies. But we've done it to see some remotes areas of Australia, and visit some Aborginal communities, that we would have otherwise not had the opportunity to). In Cairns we will spent some time with my bestest friend Wendy and her partner who are flying up for 4 nights. We will then have 7 weeks on the east coast before we fly from Sydney to NZ.
