Some may say the trip of a life time! To retire from work for 2 years and travel the globe. Sounds very tough - NOT! Let us take you through our journey beginning with the Trans Mongoligan Railway from St. Petersburg to Bejing, China, South East Asia (Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia), Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and South America, including Antarctica and the Galapagos! When will it end you may ask? Well that's when the money runs out, so lets wait and see.

Torres del Paine National Park - Chile

5 days camping and trekking in the Chilean National Park Torres del Paine. First time that we have actually carried all our camping gear and food, so quite pleased with ourselves. Though the first 15 minutes / hour was the worst, and I wondered what the hell I had got myself into! You have the choice of the -W- or the whole circuit. We walked 70kms of the -W-, missing a small part of the middle part, due to needing a rest day as Ian had badly stubbed his big toe (which turned purple). Rest day though was considered a great success as I do not remember complaining about my shoulders or hips when we took off for the 3rd day with our heavey backpacks. Organised me (remembering that I have not done this thing before), decided in my best wisdom, and want for eating more than just 2 minute noodles, decided to pre-prepare a number of meals in advance (which just may have added weight to our packs), but we ate very well! At either ends of the track are the main sights, such as the Grey Glacier and Base Torres (3 large rock towers). Good time had by all though! Feet not that sore - surprisingly. Oh, and that first beer was downed quite quickly, as you could well imagine.
